    Core module

    Understanding physiology provides the basis for crop management. The Potato Review Group explores the science of potato growing, with experiments undertaken for the exclusive benefit of group members. 

    The group’s potato-specific, science based, nutrient models aid fertiliser decision making for efficient use. Results of 30 years’ research are available via a dedicated website.

    Package includes:

    • Two one-day seminars before planting.
    • In-field day to discuss experiments and crops.
    • A series of background webinars for new members or as revision for existing members.

  • Combinables Annual membership £1200

    Core module

    Explores the science of the management of cereals and combinable break crops. Offering a holistic view of the interactions between the foundations of crop physiology and nutrition, biostimulation, manipulation and crop protection.

    Member exclusive variety analysis, putting the right variety in the right place and encompasses all aspects of management, including measurement and monitoring, rotation and sustainability.

    Package includes:

    • A minimum of three days of meetings per year made up of two in-person group events and multiple online digital presentations throughout the year.
    • Trials visit
    • Access to the members’ website and resource library, including discussion pages.
    • Meeting summary slides.
    • Video presentations and technical notes.
  • Environmental Annual membership £650

    Only available to Potatoes or Combinables subscribers

    Focus groups to discuss and prepare for transitioning to SFI and ELMS. Initial workshops will focus on soil and grassland standards within SFI for 2022 onwards. Understanding of available capital works programmes and additional grant funding opportunities. Facilitate discussions and learning around carbon accounting, natural capital accounting and biodiversity net gain. Discussion of technology for supporting natural capital surveying and accounting.

  • Soils Annual membership £650

    Only available to Potatoes or Combinables subscribers

    This course will cover fundamental soil science through to topical areas of interest such as soil nitrogen, carbon and biology. Concise online presentations provide in-depth but accessible and succinct information on soil science theory and practice for sustainable, profitable crop growth. Topics include: soil science and its link to ecosystem services; soil structure and water management; soil chemistry (including individual macro-nutrients); and soil health and biology.

    Package includes:

    • Monthly online seminars discussing individual soils-related topics
    • Quarterly half-day sessions recapping the topics from the previous three months
    • A dedicated member area where presentations can be accessed for future reference
