Alice Waugh

Research Assistant

Alice studied Zoology at the University of Lincoln before progressing to an MSc by Research in Biology, where her work focuses on plant–fungal interactions and the role of beneficial fungi in improving crop resilience and performance under environmental change.

During her studies, Alice gained experience across a range of research environments, including field‑based data collection in agricultural settings, laboratory work in culture maintenance and microscopy, and data analysis using RStudio. She also completed a placement with Saga Robotics, where she collected ground‑truth crop data to support the development of field robotics and agri‑tech innovations.

Before joining Dyson Farming Research, Alice worked on ecological field projects in Lincolnshire, gaining skills in surveying, field navigation, and accurate data recording across varied landscapes. She has also contributed to AI‑related evaluation work, strengthening her analytical and communication abilities.

At Dyson Farming Research, Alice supports the delivery of our expanding programme of crop trials, contributing to field operations, laboratory work, and the collection and management of high‑quality research data.
